Beautiful Hague success: a coffee table series by Bas Vellekoop has been selected for interior design company Zuiver's new design label 'Banne'. The round shapes ensure that you can always sit down.
Renowned interior design company Zuiver selected six leading Dutch designers for its new design label 'Banne'. Last week, it was announced that Hague-based Bastiaan Vellekoop (1985) may introduce a coffee table series for Banne, called 'Centre tables'.
Other designers participating in Banne's introductory collection include Peter van de Water (winner Dutch Design Award 2019), Peter van de Water and Lex Pott.

"I am very happy to have been chosen, Banne is timeless, minimalist and sustainable. My designs fit well with that," says Vellekoop. During the design fair Object Rotterdam, he got into conversation with the people from Zuiver, who were scouring all kinds of fairs looking for new talent.
Banne is timeless, minimalist and sustainable. My designs fit in well with that
"They liked my work. After the pitch, I have now designed this series and there are other series in the pipeline. And now just wait for a Covid-free period soon, so that my designs can be seen at international trade shows."
Prettier living environment
According to Zuiver, which creates "tomorrow's design for today's interior", Bas Vellekoop's coffee tables are a perfect match: the designer from The Hague wants to create a more pleasant living environment with his designs. The round shapes ensure that you can always sit down.
The laser-cut steel table frame has a black textured powder coating to withstand intensive use. The table is available in various sizes, the top in five colours. The different heights and diameters allow you to create a playful landscape.
Object Rotterdam
Bas Vellekoop graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2010. After this, he started his own studio in the heart of The Hague, focusing on product design. Since then, he has already made several presentations, including at The Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, Blickfang Basel and Object in Rotterdam.
Colour Table
Another table collection from Vellekoop is 'The Colour Table series'. A design that exudes unity in construction and design. The folded detail gives this design its own character. Exclusively at Fort M on Prinsestraat for sale.
