Best restaurant

My favourite food is Italian and there is only one place in The Hague where you can experience this best: Bacco Perbacco. This cosy restaurant on Van Speijkstraat brings a piece of Italy to the Netherlands. There is no menu, the chef prepares dishes with fresh ingredients especially for you. The food is fantastic and affordable, and the Italian wines complete the experience.

Most delicious sandwich shop in The Hague

As I mentioned, I love Italian food. Therefore, I recommend Gastronomia Lusso at the Fox in Garden Street for the best Italian sandwiches. Especially try the Etna sandwich with grilled chicken, caramelised onion, Parmesan cheese, lollo verde and pesto rosso. Highly recommended!

Guilty pleasure

When I thought of my guilty pleasure, a bag of chips from 't Kleinste Winkeltje in the Papestraat immediately came to mind. This mini chip shop is so small that only one customer can enter at a time. I can really enjoy fries with big blobs of mayonnaise and peanut sauce, even if your fingers get all dirty. It may not be the fanciest dish, but sometimes you just crave that delicious messiness so much. At 't Kleinste Winkeltje, they serve fresh fries every day - a Hague classic that you really must try.

Holiday in your own city

In The Hague, I really get a holiday feeling when I can sit on a terrace with a nice drink until late at night without a coat. There are so many nice places here where this is possible, provided the weather cooperates. I myself find Café Franklin at Valkenbosplein and Gastropub Van Kinsbergen on Prince Henry Square very cosy

Golden tip

As a Hague resident or visitor, you should definitely take a canal cruise around The Hague. It offers a whole new perspective on the city. You get on board and sail through the canals past beautiful places you may not have seen before or did not expect. It really is pure enjoyment.

Special shop in The Hague

I don't like to sit still, so I'm always discovering new hobbies. Currently, I am totally into the crochet and clothing sewing phase. My favourite shop for all my supplies is Van Domburg Textiles on Thomsonlaan. It is one of the few fabric and haberdashery shops in The Hague. The staff are incredibly helpful and always help me with exactly what I need. You can always find what you are looking for there! As an extra tip: they also have a stall at the Haagse Markt.
