Eleventh launch BOIDR: drinks and catching up
This time, we celebrated the 11th edition of Bij Ons In De Residentie at Hilton The Hague's BlueBlood restaurant.
Oo some two hundred people attended the launch of Bij Ons In De Residentie (BOIDR) at the Hilton's BlueBlood The Hague restaurant on Thursday 24 November. A room full of people who love the good, Hague life. Because that is what the eleventh edition (186 pages) of this high-end magazine is all about.
Including a special on New Kijkduin. The Hague's second seaside resort is currently undergoing a metamorphosis. And is attracting many new entrepreneurs. We featured some of them on our cover.
Also notable are Hague projects taking place abroad, such as the new learning hotel for mbo students on Curacao, in which a the ROC Mondriaan has a leading role. BOIDR also spoke to junior notary Mireille Bosscher: she is now in French luxury real estate. Think castles and country houses. So are you still looking for a hideaway in France?
Formula BOIDR roll out
Those adventures abroad are infectious. For us, too. With us in Rome - although I would personally love it - might be a bit too high. But why shouldn't BOIDR roll out this formula to another city?
This time, the first editions went to curator and exhibition maker nicole uniquole and sustainable designer Nienke Hoogvliet. Both ladies are also featured in the magazine with extensive interviews.
Nienke Hoogvliet gets her inspiration from nature, especially from the sea. She makes environmentally friendly paint from seaweed. She also looks at which materials she can reuse, such as a chair made of fish skin. Documentaries have been made about her, she has received a design award from Secrid, another Hague company. She exhibits all over the world. That is why BOIDR gave the first edition to her this time.
Nicole Uniquole
Nicole Uniquole, the tireless exhibition maker. She regularly pairs old masters with contemporary designers. She is the co-creator of The Dutch Design Biennale 'Masterly' (next September again here in the city centre), but just as easily sets up an exhibition in Milan (Salone del Mobile) as in Fulda, Germany. Her projects are all admirable. The Hague should be proud of such a power woman like her.
Want to read more? The magazine is available from a number of bookshops in The Hague as of today: www.boidr.nl/magazine

The Telegraph was also present at the launch.
