7 x overnight stays - unusual hotels in The Hague
For a holiday, for a weekend break or as a stopover for a business trip: The Hague has it all. But where to stay?
1. Boutique Hotel Corona
Jasper Gramsma, editor at Bij Ons In De Residentie, stayed at Boutique Hotel Corona on Buitenhof, right in the middle of The Hague's bustling city centre. After years of living in the Hofstad, he now works from France, but the Hague atmosphere always feels like coming home.

Boutique Hotel Corona: a 'home away from home'.
On arrival, he was kindly received by Amber, without the hip self-check-in. The room offered comfort, with a beautiful view of the Buitenhof and a desk for some work. "The bed was so inviting, I plopped right in," Jasper says.

After a delicious dinner on the terrace of BIT restaurant, where the dishes were "fresher than fresh", he enjoyed a peaceful night. "The night was so quiet and dark that I slept like a prince," he says. The perfect place for both work and relaxation.

2. Carlton Beach Hotel
What a lovely view. The Carlton Beach Hotel is less than twenty paces from the beach. Sun, beach, Scheveningen.
Anyone opening the balcony doors will see what the seaside resort has to offer: a lively promenade on the one hand, the laidback pavilions of Zwarte Pad on the other. Inside, you are left with the beach feeling. The blue sea, the beige-white colours of the sand, the shells and beach grass, these maritime colours are reflected in the newly renovated rooms.

A conscious choice, says sales manager Nathalie Rosbergen. "We regularly get guests who book longer stays, then it's nice if you enter a room that exudes tranquillity."

City Villa Mozaic: a touch of luxury. But no gold taps
Stadsvilla Mozaic, beautifully located in the Archipel neighbourhood is truly a boutique hotel: small-scale accommodation in the chic Archipel neighbourhood of The Hague. What they have in common: all sleeping places are a touch luxurious. "But no golden taps mind you, we do remain accessible," says Waaijer.
