The Hague is home to countless cafés and restaurants, but where do you drink the best cocktails? We picked six hotspots for you that make surprising flavour combinations. These are our recommendations:
#1 VaVoom Tiki Room
At VaVoom Tiki Room on the Grote Markt, it's all about tropical vibes, colourful cocktails and relaxed conviviality. As the first and only tiki bar in The Hague, they have been shaking and serving since 2007. With over 60 cocktail recipes, there is always something new to discover. Every month there is a special cocktail on the menu, created by one of the shakers. Think creations like Cloverfield, Lady Hyde and The Monkey's Uncle. How exactly do they taste? You'll have to come and taste that for yourself at VaVoom Tiki Room.

#2 The Five Points Bar
Since taking over in 2023, new owner Kurt has put a new spin on the cocktail bar with a focus on hospitality and on the cocktails themselves. The priority has shifted from Bartenders with knowledge to prioritising hospitality and skilled cocktails. With his work experience in Chicago and New York, among others, he brings his knowledge from America to Five Points.

At Milú, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks. But did you know that this hotspot in The Hague is also known for its extensive cocktail and G&T menu? At Ultramarijn in the voco The Hague you will find an extensive menu of cocktails with influences from travels around the world. The cocktail menu is therefore divided into the four cardinal directions north, east, south and west. Chefs make extensive use of fermentation and pickling, and pulp, peels, seeds, pits and other products that are often discarded are also incorporated into the bites and cocktails.

Tapisco is a combination of the Spanish 'tapas' and the Portuguese 'petiscos' or small bites. But this historic building on Kneuterdijk is also a great place for cocktails. On the menu, for example, 'Buttery nipple': butterscotch, Baileys and vanilla ice cream. Or 'Mezcalita margarita' including vida mezcal/corralejo tequila, cointreau and lime juice.
